Holy Name School hosted its annual Lockdown, Evacuation, and Reunification Drill on Friday, October 19th. As part of this drill Holy Name partnered with SFPD and St. Ignatius High School (SI). The drill began with a lockdown where students hid in the classrooms and then it led into an evacuation drill as students were released from their classrooms and asked to walk quietly to SI, our primary evacuation site. Once students arrived to SI parents were notified via text message, voicemail, and email that the reunification drill began. Parents then followed instructions to pick up their children.
The Reunification Drill is a simulation of how students would be reunified with their parents from anther location should there ever be an emergency that would require this. It is an opportunity for the school and parents to partner together to practice various safety protocols. Holy Name is the only school in San Francisco to hold a drill of this level.
