November 5, 2018Inspired by the Daughters of Charity and De La Salle Christian Brothers, De Marillac Academy provides a life-changing, accessible Catholic educational experience for the underserved children, youth and families of the Tenderloin and surrounding communities.
At De Marillac, we strive to provide a learning experience that honors the individual gifts and abilities of each child to ensure the best possible education for each student. Our vision is to shift the daily education process from one in which the teacher is the holder and deliverer of all knowledge to one in which the teacher feels empowered to play the role of facilitator and partner to the students,
promoting student agency and advocacy. Under this personalized learning model, faculty and staff provide guidance and feedback to students to meet them where they are and support their academic growth.
